Lake County Fair Crown Point Indiana 2003

4 stellar monsters rolled into the Lake County Fair for some mid-week monster truck action! Lets meet the drivers!

Truck/Driver Lineup

Dan Patrick - Samson

Diehl Wilson - Virginia Giant

Dale Breaner - Ramunition

Mark Hall - Raminator

Dan Patrick and Samson brought the Samson machine up from Circleville Ohio. Dan would be promoting the show along with building the track.

The 2002 Thunder Nationals points champion Diehl Wilson made the farthest trip coming all the way from Winchester Virgina bringing the beautiful looking Virginia Giant Ford with him.

Raminators little brother RAmunition and Dale Beaner made the trip from Champaign for the Lake County Fair. Breaner is definatly the rookie out of these guys but dosen't mean he cant give them a run for their money.

Unfortunately The big red Ram would be out for tonight...just kidding, Mark Hall was out early in night 1 but not tonight *that truck is a different Raminator going to Nebraska* Qualifying

Of course we have to have a track for the monsters to run on! All you can see here is a simple straight track but would it bring some fast tight racing? We shall see!

Lets Go Qualifying!

Each truck would get to run in each lane once to test out the track. Dan's runs were stellar not great but decent.

Hall layed down two blistering runs in qualifying. Mark had the field beat by one second.

Wilson got very good jumps off the line but just let off in no mans land.

Racing Round 1: Ramunition vs. Virginia Giant: Diehl got Breaner off the line but let off again in no mans land. Winner: Rammunition

Samson vs. Raminator: Here it is folks the finals from Daytona Promt. Hall takes the hole shot and dosen't look back and flys to the finish. Winner: Raminator

Consolation Round: Samson vs. Virginia Giant: Wilson gets the hole shot but LETS OFF AGAIN! Patricks runs his course and wins by a little less then a truck length.

Finals: Raminator vs. Ramunniton: Ram vs Ram whos gonna win? No hole shot for either truck. Dead even over the roller and as Jason Twite put it Raminator Hall takes the slightest, I mean slightest of bounce in the rear-end of the truck. And Ramunnition takes the win by a foot or two. Winner: Ramunnition

FREESTYLE: Ramunninition: See what happens when you take pictures in front of a fence? I hope you all learned your lesson. Well lets get back on track Breaner had a Solid run for the little space he had nice solid run Score:6 *scores by Jason Twite*

Virginia Giant: Wilson stormed on to the track and the typhoon hit the beach. Wilson had a very good paced run. He used to running in tight places. Score: 8

Samson: Dan built the track but could he get a good run. Patrick was trying hard to get a good iron wall going but just couldn't do it. A decent run. Score: 5

Raminator: And there was one... The 2003 Special Events roared on to the track and let it all hang out! Every jump was higher and further. Hall got tons of air and cleared all five! By far the best run of the night. Score: 10

Hall clears all Five!

Well there you have it Crown Points a wrap. I enjoyed the fair atmosphere, but with the 3 hour trip (due to Traffic) I dont know if I would make the trip again. Its immpossible to make it through Chicago during rush hour. Well look out for my other trip to Indiana (Valpo) soon as it will be up in a couple of days.
